  • recognise innovation as part of the need to respond to change
  • create a procedure to manage the innovation process
  • review the system in which the problem exists and identify the problem
  • analyse, define and state the problem effectively
  • prepare the system for the solution
Release their Creativity
  • see creativity as a tool of innovation
  • overcome barriers to creativity
  • harness the power of the group
  • be solutions and ideas orientated
  • experiment and improvise with ideas
  • problem-solve successfully
Manage Innovative Problem-solving
  • facilitate the problem-solving session
  • review and re-state the problem
  • create solutions and work in groups to achieve synergy
  • operate brainstorming techniques
  • apply morphology, metaphor and other innovative approaches to problem-solving
  • evaluate and prioritise solutions
Implement Solutions
  • action plan the prioritised solutions
  • set goals with realistic time-scales
  • prepare the package for presentation
  • present the action plan to the system where the problem exists
  • sell the action plan
  • introduce the plan into the system
  • monitor, improve, alter as necessary
